Thank you for coming out and making Recruitment Spring 2012 a success!
The University of Houston-Upsilon Chapter of Phi Sigma Rho was founded in 2005. Sharon James, now Sharon Drake, is the chapter founding president who recruited nine other Alpha Class members. In the beginning, the sisters of the Upsilon chapter were mainly chemical engineering and electrical engineering majors, but soon after, other engineering and engineering technology ladies showed an interest in becoming active sisters.
The Upsilon Chapter officially accepts all undergraduate Engineering and Engineering Technology majors. We have a diverse active sisterhood with actives 18+ years old, families, and from all around the world. Alumnae of the chapter go on to work for such companies as Schlumberger, Dow Chemical, Oxy Chemical, and Exxon Mobile. The Upsilon Chapter participates in many philanthropy events including: Sally Ride, Houston SPCA Mutt Strut, March for Babies, and Out of the Darkness Walk. Each year, the sorority also hosts active socials, banquets, and sister reunions. The sorority hosts Recruitment events during the first three weeks of both the Spring and Fall semesters. |
