Phi Sigma Rho, a national social sorority for women in engineering and engineering technology, was founded at Purdue University in 1984 by Abby McDonald and Rashmi Khanna. Abby and Rashmi were unable to participate in traditional sorority rushes due to the demands of their majors, so they decided to start a sorority of their own! Today Phi Sigma Rho is represented at several universities across the United States and is continually expanding.
